Queen Serenity

Queen Serenity is the former Queen of the Moon, who was resurrected in the body of Ikuko Tsukino during the 20th Century. She lives on the Moon Kingdom as an advisor to her daughter, and although she continues to have the title of Queen, she is formally known as “the Queen’s Mother” to not confuse others with her daughter as they share the same name.

History

Queen Serenity was once a proud queen of the Moon Kingdom, a title which was given to her by someone she considered to be one of her best friends, Kalma Kage. She is the mother of Usagi and a wife to King Nomen. Serenity back then and till this day has a strong belief of no war and no killing despite what the criminal had done. However, her judgment back then was challenged when Kalma Kage under the alias of DS was taken under Kaos’s wing and was forced to attack the Moon Kingdom twice. As a result, Serenity followed Kalma to her planet, Tuonela, and locked her away within the Ginzuishou. Unfortunately for Serenity, upon committing such an action this had led to her own demise; however, she truly did not have much to lose at the time. Her daughter was killed as well as many important members of the Moon Kingdom, and her husband was nowhere to be found.

It wasn’t until the 20th Century Tokyo where Serenity was finally resurrected within the body of Ikuko Tsukino, the Earth mother of Usagi due to the powers of Lunern. But much to her dismay, she had also reawakened during the middle of a war, and even though her life might have been threatened, she continues to state “You will only be doing me a favor by returning me to my grave.” This is due to the fact that Serenity believes that she is not supposed to be alive currently. She believes her life ended when she used the powers of the Ginzuishou during the time of the Silver Millennium.

Sometime later, Serenity was given her own body and no longer has to live within Ikuko Tsukino’s mind; however, she still depends on the woman’s life force in order to survive. When Serenity was taken by “Anubis” (Nomen) and was put in his realm for questioning, Serenity took the blame for having started the war despite it truly being Kalma that started it. But when the Moon Kingdom was resurrected by the powers of Nomen, Serenity took on the throne but later passed it down to her daughter, Usagi, in the 30th Century. She also became the mother of Shiotosu when Ikuhara altered his life due to Kalma not wanting him as a son.
