Tuonela
Tuonela is a planet which was created by Kalma Kage when the Earth’s realm was first formed. It currently aligns itself with Earth in the gravitational pull with the sun; however, due to Kalma’s control over the planet it will never collide with the Earth. The planet also cannot be seen through the naked eye or a telescope and only those with powers have the ability to see the planet.
Within the game, the planet was first destroyed and turned into a barren wasteland when Kaos attacked and took over Kalma Kage. It wasn’t until Ikuhara came into the game and put the planet back to its prime state where the people of Tuonela would be reborn along with it, thus forming a new civilization.
The Atmosphere
When Pure
Although many thought that planets never changed physical appearance, Tuonela is a unique planet which changes depending on Kalma’s mind. When she is in a pure state of mind, Tuonela appears with grasslands, mountain ranges, flowerbeds, lakes, and sunshine.
When Darkened
When Kalma’s state of mind shows signs of negativity; the planet Tuonela’s atmosphere changes to accompany her state of mind. The mountain ranges, flowerbeds and grasslands appear to now be rotten, and the planet itself becomes a barren wasteland even though it has civilization. The only thing left of the planet’s natural resources is water from the lakes; however, it is recommended to not go near the lakes due to the constant storms that form on the planet. It should be noted that the planet itself in this state does not go past 20 degrees in temperature and that it will only drop.
The Tuonese Towers
Tuonela is protected not only by Kalma Kage, but it also has a high defense system called the Tuonese Towers; each tower has the abilities of fire, water, air, and earth and they can only be controlled by a child of Kalma or her husband (unless permission was granted by Kalma). When activated, they are capable of forming a shield which will protect the planet from any upcoming attacks, as well as disable all powers to those which it deems unfit to have powers amongst the planet. They also have the abilities of transporting anyone to the planet Tuonela who Kalma chooses by forming a portal underneath the person. If destroyed, the Tuonese Towers will simply recreate themselves and become even stronger than before as a defense mechanism. They are capable of using the powers of fire, water, air and earth in order to attack and defend the planet if necessary.
They also have the ability to reform on another planet if Kalma sees fit; however, she prefers to keep them amongst her planet in order to protect her people. They did however; appear on Earth once before during the battle with Cryisos and upon their formation, they turned the Earth to look like the planet Tuonela while they were here.
